able to accomplish in our first season. Our players also earned respect from the coaches, our fans,
and our opponents because of the effort with which
they played. While strides were made in
some areas, our program will never be content with the stigma of
mediocrity that comes with a 4-6
record. We will not be content
until we win a league championship and qualify for the state playoffs. We
feel that, as a program, we will soon get to the point that we do these
two things on a yearly basis. But doing so will take continued progress.
Progress that will only come from hard work, commitment and sweat in the
weight room. The time to make this
progress is now. Tomorrow’s championships are built today in the
off-season. We must make continued improvements from this point forward to
become the kind of team we aspire to be. We must come together this
off-season to become a more close-knit team on the field next fall. Team
chemistry is as important as
talent in team sports. This
chemistry is not found during the season, but is the result of players who
spend a great deal of time together working toward a common goal in the
off-season. We
encourage anyone who is interested in helping our program to attend our monthly
meetings. Feel free to get in contact with me if you have any
questions. See
You on Sunday! We
will be holding our second off-season meeting this Sunday at 7:00pm in the
administrative building. Our meetings will always be held on Sunday evenings
at 7:00pm. We made a lot of progress as an organization last year, and our
goal is to continue that improvement this year. This Sunday we will be
discussing the events of this coming off-season, organizing those events,
and brainstorming for new ideas.

aspect of any
weight-training program. Great strides are made when attendance to our
weight-training sessions are a priority. Without great commitment our
players will never reach their potential.
For us to Deserve Victory
next fall, we must put the time in now. We made great progress last
off-season in our strength and conditioning program. But we need to
continue that improvement in order to reach our goals of becoming a league
champion and playoff team. Many of our players have
already begun our off-season program in their weight-training course during
the school day. For all other players, we will begin next Monday. I will have a meeting later this week to
inform the players of our December lifting schedule. As
you probably remember from last year, this section of the newsletter will
be used in the future as a forum for our players to talk about some aspect
of our football program. I will choose a different player each month to put
together a paragraph or two that will be printed in this section. stepped up as juniors and deserved
that honor. This year I have decided to see which of our returning players
step to the forefront and become leaders for our program. I stressed
earlier the importance of chemistry to team success. Likewise, great teams
do not exist without great leadership. As coaches, we are excited to see
who steps up this off-season. continue their leadership of our Tri-Valley student
athletes this winter. We wish all of them good luck as well. Coach Buttermore Tri-Valley
